What are the most common romantic pairings for Enneagram type 5s?

Female 5s most often marrying 1s, 6s, 5s, and 9s, and Male 5s most often marrying 1s, 9s, 2s, and 6s (in that order).

Certain type 5 pairings are more common than others, though any type combination can occur and thrive. The marriage data we compiled and analyzed was broken down by gender, with Female 5s most often marrying 1s, 6s, 5s, and 9s, and Male 5s most often marrying 1s, 9s, 2s, and 6s (in that order).

When we remove gender as a variable, 5s overall most often marry 1s, 9s, and 6s, and least often marry 8s, 7s, and 3s. All type combinations bring shared and unique elements to the relationship!

Most common:

5s and 1s share competence, philosophy, passion. 5s bring curiosity, depth, raw authenticity. 1s bring practicality, balance, polish. 5s and 9s share independence, curiosity, perseverance. 5s bring raw authenticity, realism, analytic foresight. 9s bring warmth, idealism, positivity. 5s and 6s share analytic foresight, curiosity, craftsmanship. 5s bring objectivity, emotional calm, solidity. 6s bring compassion, vitality, sociability.

Average:
